As a poaster above noted this is like a priceless piece of property. But regardless, as first a bachelor then a couple with no kids, these were very temporary accommodations. As soon as children started to come they would be moved into ever larger and posher locations. And if he had just stuck it out for a couple of years until the queen died his dad would have basically given him everything Prince Andrew had when he stripped those titles and a whole lot more.

What it shows is that all of this nonsense about the royal family being stuffy and elitist and M/H not wanting to be a part of it is pure garbage. They are elitist snobs who weee bent out of shape that they were second fiddle in terms of security, PR and accommodations. So they bucked the system to sell out in an effort to gain the clout they feel they’re owed and ran off to California. I’ll hand it to Harry though. He knew if he just waited for Grandma to die his dad would be too sentimental and likely guilty over Di’s death to really do the needful and fully excommunicate him. Or maybe he realized there was such an insatiable appetite for this stuff he’d become independently wealthy anyway so who cares. But the way this will end is with M/H amassing a 9- or 10-figure fortune then a decade or two later reconciling with the family anyway.
