In any case there are like 4 different emulator options for any gaming console on any flavor of Linux, and different games play differently on different emulators. If you want to get into N64 I think there are two main emulators people switch back and forth between depending on the game. PSP games are the least glitchy overall on any of these systems. I've never had issues Rpi playing anything up through PS1. |

rt of the problem is that you have a 1.2ghz SOC trying to emulate a chip that ran at like 4mhz. If you play Double Dragon on a MAME emulator for example it will slow to a crawl when there are too many spites on the screen and eventually it becomes unplayable. But the original arcade version was the exact same way because it ran on a 2.2mhz chip. There's no way to emulate it correctly and solve that problem. With some games the buttons can feel super janky because it registers your inputs at 1.2ghz but the game itself is still playing at <8mhz.
If people are saying it struggles with N64 I take that to mean the chip is weak or it's incompatible with the good emulators. I don't recognize most of the part numbers, I only recognize Mali GPUs on some of them. |
