There was a flurry of posting the summer of The Move and the place looked amazing. Giant cerulean skies. 19th C architecture clustered in a cozy downtown. Plains to the horizon, in every direction.
It sounded like they were having a blast, and I know they got together in some lodge about 4 nights a week.
Then, all of a sudden, none of them posted anymore. Could have been a tragedy? Or they all dispersed? Or maybe they are still out there, and decided not to advertise the treasure they had found.
Anyway, I still remember the name of the lodge with the backroom and the dumb "password" you give the barman, and one of these days I am going to show up. |

I live in a “depressing” and “affordable” town.
I have a lively social life, several hobbies, and a healthy, fulfilling law practice.
People here are nice. There is a sense of community.
Meth seems like the source of the majority of our town’s problems.
There is no good sushi here, but we have a good Indian place.
My commute to and from work is 7 minutes.
I grew up in a big city in a nice house and neighborhood many poasters would aspire to. My lifestyle is more balanced than my parents’ lifestyle was when I was a kid.
The “depressing” part really depends more on the individual. |
