The problem is that most people who get married really don't love each other to begin with, and in many situations don't really even like each other. Women fuck random dudes during most of their 20's nowadays and then when they get into their early 30's they just grab whoever is left, like musical chairs.
People in most marriages try to avoid spending time with their spouse, don't have any type of open communication, and have tons of spit towards their spouse. Cheating is just a symptom of that. Even having a spouse who overspends money (which is another problem that causes divorce), is caused by not knowing your spouse well enough before marrying them.
You really should be dating someone for at least 3-5 years before you even consider marrying them, btw. I didn't get married until I was with my wife 10 years. It wasn't done intentionally, we just didn't have a rush since we started dating at 18. But you can't get to really know someone until you've been through a lot of shit with them. You need to see their true character before you decide if you should spend your life with them.

Your view is totally contradicted by the overwhelming success of arranged marriages, where the couple meet maybe only a few times before marriage, and at 5, 10, 15, 20 years in, they report being very happy with one another.
It is not what 'interests' someone has, it is whether they are duty bound.

Fewer divorces than you think are caused by infidelity.
The very wealthy were always able to get divorced because they could afford it.
For middle class folk, mostly I just see people who don't like each other anymore and aren't willing to remain in loveless marriages. In generations past these people would stick it out because the woman was totally financially dependent on the man, and the man was living by the "cheaper to keep her" mantra.
Now, a lot of times, both spouses earn similar incomes, have similar sized retirement accounts and all we are dealing with is selling a house and negotiating custody and other kid issues.
In many cases, woman is financially independent, and man is no longer fearful of an oppressive, decades long alimony obligation.
