You can make your own bed with Dunlop latex with differing layers of hardness and Legett coils springs.

the headsail has tears but some hellosir will sew it up for just 5000 pesos which is $92, says he'll be done by tues
at that point i just need the engine checked again to make sure the steering works properly then i maybe can go on a test sail with the hellosir, i am hoaping the hire the engine guy too for a week or so to come with us in case the engine gives out
other minor issues: not sure the autopilot works, it turns on but need to test, ditto with the radios, the small radio battery dies quick but there's a DC radio that works but need to make sure, i havent heard any traffic when i put it on channel 16
i have to install a new fishfinder, like an idiot i got one that doesnt have an inhull tranducer so i need to put it on the back of the boat, dont want to drill a hole in the transom so thinking abt connecting it to the ladder at the back, this maybe retarded

The white paint looks shitty and actually decreases the value of the boat. people look at the upkeep of the wood to determine how the boat is cared for. Painting teak (which is very expensive wood) white tells everyone that you do not know how to maintain a boat or that you are too cheap to do it properly.
Pay the hellosirs to scrape/sand that shit off and oil or varnish the teak.
The condition of your running rigging is also really poor. make sure you have some replacement line when you take it out for sea trials |

It will cost you about $200 to $300 and will increase the value of your boat by thousands. Seriously. You have done thousands of dollars in damage to your boat by painting the teak. If you want your boat to be a ramshackle piece of shit then proceed with shit paint on teak. Your boat is looking good. Why ruin it with a ghetto trash paint job?
Scrape off all paint from all wood surfaces - 3 days labor. sand all wood surfaces - 3 days labor. oil or varnish surfaces 1-2 days labor for oil 3-6 days labor for varnish - 2 coats.
Take advantage of this cheap labor. you will definitely get the money back when you sell and you will not earn the derision of every yacht and marina you pass. |
