And then they just give every person in the organizatoin with "chief" in their title between 2 and 50 million dollars for no reason. And it doesn't seem to effect the company financials at all?
I thought the court invalidating Elon's compensation was bullshit, but its crazy Tesla is laying off 14,000 people and in the same week trying to give Elon Musk $46 billion people - which is equal to $4 mm per laid off worker...

Then some years they cut bonuses.
But somehow we never think to save money by just not giving our "Chief Brand Officer" $2 million in stock? Because apparently if we don't someone else is just going to line up to give them $3 mm per year in comp to do brand work? |

They’ll give some director or senior manager like 25k of stock per year and work them to death while they take home millions, and then like you said the insult to injury with ridiculous budget cuts every year. Having spent the better part of two decades working inside F100 megacorps I have seen up close/worked directly with hundreds of people who led organizations of over 1,000 people. The vast majority, well over 80%, were Peter Principle wastes of space who were most effective in their roles when they made themselves scarce and just waited for their smartest people to do the work so they could claim credit for it. The boomer bullshit about how important “vision” is for a leader is so transparent and obvious as an attempt at the weakest possible justification for what blatantly just results from hierarchy and corporate politics.
