Post-Finasteride Syndrome (PFS) is a condition that can occur in men who take finasteride, a drug used to treat hair loss or an enlarged prostate, and experience adverse side effects that persist after stopping the drug. Symptoms can include:
Sexual: Decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, difficulty achieving orgasm, abnormal ejaculation
Physical: Swelling in the hands or feet, breast tenderness or enlargement
Mental and neurological: Memory impairment, slowed thought processes, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, listlessness, anhedonia
There is no evidence-based treatment for PFS, and the medical community has not yet recognized it as a condition.
