Average people simply cannot comprehend XO when they encounter it, so they go along their way on the internet thinking nothing more if for some reason they happen upon this place by chance.

Many others are instinctively repelled by it, and to them this place is an anathema and often a graveyard for their popularly held ideals which they must constantly see laid bare and mercilessly ridiculed before their eyes.

I am sure those who have been forced to monitor or otherwise come into prolonged unwilling contact with XO have had their perceptions of reality irrevocably altered, if only enough to permanently scar their worldview. This phenomena can even be seen with some posters, often those who are liberal. Over the years I have seen them gradually break down, their capacity for argument diminished and even the syntax of their posts changed - their very mind eroded by the board.

Yet there are others still, those of a more rarefied extraction. Others who were called to the board. They craved the board even before they knew of its existence and were inevitably drawn to this place like moths to flame. They were nourished by the perpetual lunacy cultivated by the board, thriving in the midst of the insanity produced by the board, their poasting growing stronger by the day and becoming almost impossible for a pumo to assail. One could say they really like it here.
