The guy was born in Pakistan, grew up in Texas, and made $100 million in community assets. He tricked his wife to visit Pakistan and while there he discretely posted a divorce notice in a local paper and said "I divorce her" on three occasions. The Pakistani court ruled it was a divorce. She had no idea any of that happened.
He went back to Texas and got the lower court to enforce the divorce. On appeal, the TX supremes were like, lol no.
