Summary of that thread: Started at 262 lbs at 6' 1". Panicked and got on Wegovy. First Wegovy dosage increase fucked me up completely: daily vomiting and extreme nausea for two weeks. Stopped Wegovy because of that. I don't remember what weight I was at when I last updated that thread, but I think I had lost about 13-15 pounds total.
Updates since then:
1. My old scale was electronic and over 10 years old, and weighing myself multiple times within minutes of each other gave me wildly different weights each time. I have since bought a new scale that's more consistent. My old scale was miscalibrated and giving readings that were 7-13 pounds lighter than the new scale. So my actual starting weight was probably closer to 270 lbs.
2. After two weeks of daily vomiting and unbearable nausea because of the Wegovy, I saw another doctor who suggested trying a different GLP-1, but I said no. I spent about a month after that Wegovy disaster just readjusting to eating normal food.
3. I had a binge eating problem that seemed to be linked to stress and was a large part of me becoming a fat fuck. My doctor suggested talking to a nutritionist and therapist about this, but I just paid for ChatGPT Pro or whatever it's called and used it to figure out how to fix my binge eating problem. Won't go into the details, but I'm no longer binge eating. Hasn't happened once in over two months now.
4. As I mentioned, I didn't want to try another GLP-1. Instead, I simply started exercising the same amount and eating almost exactly the same food every single day to figure out what my "baseline" was to just maintain my weight because counting calories has never worked out for me. After figuring that out, I started slowly stripping out calories (mostly carbs) from that daily meal plan while slightly increasing the amount of exercise I did daily. I did this slowly and gradually because I feared it would re-trigger my binge eating problem, but that never happened.
And that's what I've kept up for almost two months now. I'm losing about 1.5 pounds a week without feeling hungry or deprived.
This morning I weighed in at 230.2 lbs. Three more pounds and I'm out of the obese BMI range and simply overweight.
Goal weight is around 190 lbs. Still a long way to go, but I've gotten pretty far from my estimated 270 lb starting point. Exercise has become more enjoyable as I've shed more weight. It was physically taxing and stressful when I was at my fattest. My clothes fit better. My tits have shrunk. My gut no longer protrudes so far that it sticks out at the bottom of my shirts.
Still have a fat-looking face with lots of fat at the neck. Hoping my face starts looking leaner soon.
1. you have my respect for finally getting after it. congrats on the progress so far.
2. how the fuck did you let yourself go this badly? did seeing a number starting with 2 in the scale not give you pause? or having to replace your entire wardrobe with bedsheets basically? I am baffled at how things get this bad without triggering a panic attack
