yes, but only in the sense of gaining an experience worth a lot more than 2% cash back. you would never buy a $10k first class ticket to europe or wahtever so it's not like you're really making $10k

but it's still a lot more fun flying first lcass for your 120k points than getting $1500 cash

The only disadvantage of flying business: once you do it you never ever want to go back to coach.

First on the other hand while great is not so much better than business that it ruins business for you.

It takes no time at all. You just book all your business travel on one airline and use that airline's accompanying credit card for most business and personal expenses. Then you exchange your points for business class tickets, with a lie-flat bed and decent food and wine, on your next international flight.

If you don't do this you're just leaving money on the table.

Do you always find the flights you want with Delta, or are you forced to use whatever they have?

Could you have gotten a better price/offer more according to your needs if you weren't FORCED to do it with Delta/Marriot?

Srsly bro, in one year, try checking both options, your current card's few options vs doing it without a card and being open to 100's of other options, then come back with us with an informed analysis. Doing it the way "they say" only looks attractive when you're literally blind to all the other options around you.

This is, of course, the credited response.

I just tell my assistant to book a nonstop flight on Delta. If it costs an extra thousand dollars, great, I get a thousand extra points.

I guess the OP thinks civilized people spend a lot of time comparing prices and booking their own travel? He seems to have it exactly backwards.

On the contrary you're an idiot if you have don't take advantage of this tax free benefit.

We haven't paid actual cash for a vacation flight for years. We travel at the pointy end of the plane using frequent flyer redemptions.

Right now we have hundreds of thousands of AA and QF miles/points.

I'm pretty prole and I don't pay attention at all to my rewards points. I think that just makes me a lazy fuck. But, I do know people who search for that shit and manage their points like those weird as fuck COUPONJUNKIES.

Right, Delta Reserve. Just pay $450 per year to get the benefits, LJL.

If you travel all the time for work it is worth it. Just the lounge access alone compensates for the fee.

I will promptly inform my BigLaw clients who are always traveling coast-to-coast for work, and then taking their family to Switzerland for ski trips for free with all their points, that they are prole. Thanks OP.

Just tell them they're being thoroughly owned by CC companies without them even knowing. "For free" means, they had to spend a shitload of money on shit they didn't need just to earn all those points that now took them on trips "for free."

They're being fooled.

You're retarded.

Most of the stuff these guys are buying with their Amex Platinum card or whatever is stuff they HAVE TO BUY for work. For example, I know a guy who is the SVP/Director of Acquisitions for a REIT. He flies around North America looking at prospective properties to add to the REIT's portfolio, negotiating with potential sellers, etc. He probably puts $1000 a day on his Amex card for flights, hotels, food, and networking. Then he gets fully reimbursed by the company. Then he takes his family on ski trips to the Alps, or safaris, or whatever, at no cost to him. I will be sure to let him know that he is prole, though.

What the fuck are you talking about? If you're a non-prole you're already spending a fair bit on restaurants, travel, etc. Regardless of whether you're being reimbursed, it's just stupid to not use a credit card that has decent rewards (especially airline miles, because in this hypo you are a non-prole who travels).

Every rich non-people I've ever met uses a rewards credit card. Rich people's use cash or debit cards.

Using the points is obviously not prole. But spending tons of effort on researching credit cards, maximizing points, etc. is slightly undignified.

OP outed as a fucking retard who thinks he is sticking it to GC by using a debit card and getting nothing back instead of using rewards cards and getting free international biz class travel every few months.

Also it’s far more prole to spend your rewards points on “camping equipment” than on international travel.
