you want to get 2-3 good indexers, 2-3 accounts (look at who their peers are, you want non-overlapping ones -- your primary account = unlimited, then you buy coverage on the other two), && then set up sonarr, lidarr, radarr, and maybe prowlarr and sickbeard/sabnzbd, with a DL client like NZBGet.
Then you display with Jellyfin/Plex/Kodi.

1) sign up for a usenet provider, e.g. https://www.newsgroup.ninja (there are lots of them which are all on the same handful of backbones) 2) sign up for an indexer (no idea what the best one is these days, I've had the same subscription for ages on a site thats been closed off for a while. you can find up to date suggestions on le reddit) 3) setup up sabnzbd (or similar tool) and make sure your provider works 4) setup a local app like sonarr for organizing all this shit+searching for shows and make sure your indexer works
step 4 is technically optional as you can just use the indexers directly (in most cases, some are api-only), but if you're downloading more than the occasional movie it's well worth it as otherwise it becomes a pain in the ass to manage |
