idk bro just do it. it's like buying into a lottery pool with your bros at work -- you do it so you don't kill yourself when they all quit on the same day and go out to buy matching lambos.

I just bought some LIQ on Raydium using Phantom Wallet (Chrome browser extension).
Can someone explain how I control/have access to the crypto in my Phantom wallet? It didn’t even ask me for a username, all I had to do was create a password. Am I chained to the laptop I used when I downloaded the browser extension? Sorry for being stupid but I don’t want to put a bunch of $ in only to lose it

the three most important things when it comes to crypto wallets are:
1. you need to keep multiple, confidential, copies of your seed phrase (the 12 or 24 word phrase that you get when you first open your phantom wallet).
2. see (1)
3. see (1).
so long as you have a copy of your seed phrase, you can regenerate your phantom wallet, regardless of whether you're in a hong kong office or on a sailboat with packet radio off the cost of somalia.
this obviously makes your seed phrase very valuable, since anyone else can do the same thing and steal your funds. that's why the best way of protecting your seed phrase is to get a ledger and generate a seed phrase within the ledger (and keep multiple offline copies of this seed phrase so you never lose it). then link up your ledger to your phantom wallet and you're ready to rock and roll.
