Of note:
“It is noteworthy that we initially assessed that Astra had made errors in several additional problems. However, upon closer examination and consultation with the experts, we found that there were subtle errors in the original solutions. In all these cases, after the experts corrected their solutions, Astra’s solution was found to be correct.”

above says it was wrong and actual humans had to fix it (who won't exist if everyone just trusts this crap to think for everyone). has "AI" ever actually done anything useful? like cure cancer or autism, or how to genocide all of africa without being totally evil, or how to get the chinese to stop being chinese?

Bro are you being for real right now? This is like high school level reading comp at best. The possessive "their" refers to the experts, while "Astra's solution" is explicitly identified separately.

Motherfucker, do you not understand the genuine and desperate need for depopulation? You're not gonna get shit OTHER THAN ass and ball cancer with a big helping of potentially deadly violent crime

He still doesn’t want to admit he’s wrong. He thinks Artificial intelligence isn’t actual intelligence, consciousness is fundamentally important and we aren’t meat computers. Hopefully deep down this is eating away at him and he has to suppress thoughts that his entire line of thinking on this matter was wrong.

Even in the small percent chance this were true lol at thinking the ai wouldn’t have figured it out anyway. “But there could have been data leakage!!!” He lisped as machine surpassed his intellect by orders of magnitude. It’s all cope

What are you talking about? Can you point to a single thing I said that isn't true? I just destroyed someone upthread and everyone agreed, and then in this subthread right here i pointed out the literally retarded logical flaw of "can't rule out a data leak" implying "the machine must of thecretly theen the answers beforehand" cope

Who cares what the origin is? At the end of the day it exist now and is outthinking our physicists and mathematicians on certain problems and is only going to get better.

why won’t it do anything that actually matters? Like something that improves people’s lives. No one gives a shit that some dorks built a fancy calculator
Like if it’s so smart then go build a toilet that also functions as a garbage disposal so you can flush whatever the fuck you want. That would actually be useful.

all of that stuff gets attributed to human research teams using ai. stuff like navier stokes is different because the traditional benchmarks for math were becoming saturated so they had to start throwing open problems at it and it started solving them.

So is what you are saying basically that because humans created ai, its achievements and existence belong on the "human side" of some imagined human versus machine divide?
I'm still not so sure. The fact that humans created something doesn't establish that the resulting intelligence is human. What makes you think that just because humans initiated the process that whatever emerges on the other side is an extension of humanity? Humans emerged from non-human organisms and I wouldn't say that makes human cognition an extension of those ancestors.

In some respects it's more like an animal, but ultimately I don't think it's either. I'm not sure we even have an adequate category for what it is yet. It's a genuinely new kind of thing

It seems to be a more advanced version of a long-existing thing, but I'm not known for my perceptive or interpretive abilities. I'm known for being short.

Oh yeah? Can it tell how many of those 20 accounts were different human beings? Or has this place shrunk so much that even the sock puppets have been jettisoned
