Vietnam and Afghanistan ended in defeat. Iraq was sold with justifications that proved completely false. World War 1's cause was stupid, its impact was catastrophic and its peace deal only set the stage for World War 2. All of them, for America, were complete wars of choice (save Afghanistan; but even there decades of nation-building could have been skipped).
World War 2 began as a war of aggression by a revisionist totalitarian power that incorporated industrial genocide into its war strategy. The war ended in total American victory and inaugurated an entire lifetime of unprecedented middle class prosperity and American political, economic, scientific, and cultural dominance. Instead of leaving behind enemies plotting revenge, America transformed its two primary foes into prosperous, free allies.
That's all a tremendous amount of good to argue against, and it's a noticeable pattern that people who decide to do so repeatedly end up making arguments for the good faith and positive intentions of Adolf Hitler, a historical figure conspicuous for lacking such traits.
Hopefully that helps explain the "weird" fact that people get more exercised about World War 2 -- people are able to tell the difference between criticisms of dumb wars we lost and well-justified wars that we won decisively, and suspect the intentions of people who choose to bash the second.

he's very careful w/ his language. theres no doubt that WW2 resulted in a significant 20-30 year boost to the material standard of living in the USA, which is what he claims.
I agree that this basic bitch CATO style analysis is beneath him as an xo alum

Man you are such a whiny faggot. I'm very open about all of my opinions with others irl
Get bent you fucking dork. You have the gall to go around sneering at others calling them "contrarian" when that's literally all you do: attack whatever someone says, regardless of the content of what they're saying, and regardless of any "opinion" that you yourself might have on the matter
Fuck off and go somewhere else, you whiny ass dweeb

the 'US lost WWII' narrative is more convincing overall due to the empire's trajectory since 1945, but that kind of analysis is off-limits to the mainstream 'conservative' movement, so of course he can't engage with that sort of stuff.
the US didn't lose WWII. it lost the cold war, specifically the part where elites forced desegregation on us because they were afraid of global communism both in the third world and at home.
it's by far the biggest concession americans have ever made in any conflict.

the US/soviet dyad was a direct consequence (and arguably a continuation) of WWII. there are a lot of problems trying to treat 'WWII' analytically as something which came to a halt in 1945. a phase ended; others arguably began.
yes, but the phase where things went screwy FOR AMERICANS came in the 60s, and it was not inevitable. there were many ways we could've resolved our racial issues differently and more productively, and it's a much more informative set of counterfactuals than america's role in world war 2.
you have to take world affairs as they come, and the 60s was when we took our eye off the ball—or actually the 50s, I think the role of cuba as the loose thread that started america's unraveling is badly underestimated. but world war 2 became the origin of something that it never really had to be, we could've walked it back.

the US was reconstituted as an imperium after WWII (something that guys like francis parker yockey were trying to point out before the state killed them), and empires can only act using imperial logic. the logic of an imperial state precludes 'petty nationalisms' such as trying to preserve an ethnic national majority. this was WWII's biggest legacy for the US.
countries can balance multiple priorities. the imperial mindset won because nothing opposed it and because the archons seized upon a broad moral desire to punish the south and used it to push through a far more ambitious state expansion. THAT was the turning point, people were hoodwinked and to this day still buy into the false dichotomies that are presented around it. it’s a consequential topic because it isn’t truly “settled history” in the same way that 20th-century continental powers are.
it’s also not obvious that world war 2 counterfactuals lead to a world where this doesn’t happen, there are many reasons a state might suddenly decide a more centrally planned social order is in its interests.
