yes, it is crazy. we've invented thinking machines and Trump's policies are so dumb we have high inflation, a mediocre market, and lame productivity gains. all the surplus from this new invention is being lit on fire because of one idiot and his (((crooked))) friends.

I got raped by over 50k on HESM over the past week because Chevron pulled out of it. Went from ~75k profit at the peak to being down $10k overall. Have added a little more at 31.85 and 31.14, for an average buy price of 31.99. This is now a huge part of my yield sleeve, so if it is substantially impaired, I'm substantially FUCKED for retirement
My GIS holdings also fell a fuckload, sending me from about $12k up to break even. I added a little more in the 31 handle and will buy another 25k worth if it gets down to ~30.5
I just bought some OWL and have orders in for ETD at 19.5, ETY at 13.92, UTG at 33.35, and more OWL at 7.99. These buys would close out my high yield sleeve, and then I'd just have ETFs to put all the rest of my money into for retirement in 1.75 (planned) to 2.5 (if market craters going into retirement) years

Good job on GIS. I'm trying to build a high yield portfolio at good entry prices and then hold for 7 - 12 years. It will fund my early retirement and let my growth sleeve compound untouched
Even with the small loss now on HESM, I'm overall up in my high yield sleeve and am generating over 75k/yr on only like 800k invested.
If you took this approach, you'd generate all your cost of living from 350k and then be able to be patient with your remaining million or so to grow

I think at least one of value or tech will tank between now and the immediate aftermath of the election. I've got 550k in cash I'm sitting on and hope to deploy substantially into schg or schd depending on which crashes or which crashes worse
I'm way over concentrated in krp and hesm but I'll keep nibbling on hesm if it goes into the upper 20s and then just hope for the best

My main account is a dividend/dividend growth profolio where I am looking to retire in a few years on dividends. It has only companies and ETF's that I think are not shit and I'm not necessarily going for a high yield in all cases. My play around is just high yield + selling options.

I'm down .17%
Shit outside of tech is doing well. I'm going to start buying some SCHG if it falls into the 34 handle. Wanting to buy a bunch of SCHD if I can get it at/around 32...narrowly missed a big buy on this over the past week or so

In your situation, I really don't understand why you can't buy good dividend payers on discount. If you had bought back into GIS when I added on the recent decline, you'd be up over 4% in a matter of a few days and would have qualified for a .61 dividend
HESM is a genuine unknown right now with CVX's exit, but if it declines into the 27.50 - 29 range, you might consider picking some up for income and eventual price appreciation
I've got 271.5k in it right now and I'll add more as it declines to a max of 300k (don't be retarded like me and get over concentrated in it though)
Obviously do your own diligence/not a financial advisor/not your fucking lawyer, saaaaaaaaaaarrrrr, etc.

Do you have any dry powder? I think there will be a decent pullback (~8% - 15%) within the next 4 weeks from election shit, let alone the potential for an unexpected shoe to drop in the energy space between now and then
